By R.E.A.L. Kids, a membership organization designed to raise a
generation of kids helping others and learning how to be R.E.A.L. –
Responsible, Enterprising and Active for Life. In the Back-to-School
spirit and to celebrate its REAL Kids Month, the Wake / Durham-based
organization invites Triangle area students to get a free book bag and
fill it up with free school supplies at its 2nd Annual Book Bag Buffet
from 12-5 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Brierdale Shopping
Center in Brier Creek. The keynote speaker will be N.C. Rep. Rosa Gill
(D-Wake). Along with the buffet line of school supplies, the
family-friendly event doubles as a festival of vendors, snacks,
face-painting and bouncy-house fun. The young female deejay sensation DJ
Beauty and the Beatz from Washington, DC, will provide
the music. The event will culminate with a Kids Fashion Show.
